Trinidad and Tobago are the most southernly of the Caribbean islands and only 12 miles away from Venezuela. Visibility year-round averages 30-50ft. The Orinoco River in Venezuela is the primary source of the nutrients feeding our underwater flora and fauna. During the rainy season it's not uncommon to be able to see this in the first few feet of the water column. Light passing through this is filtered so that a stronger green is visible. Well positioned lighting corrects the color shift for photgraphy. This rich soup of plankton and microscopic fauna results in well fed wildlife much larger than the norm. |
